As the 2018th year of the common era is now here, I encourage you to use the arrival of the new year, new month, and new day to think about your strategic goals you’d like to accomplish in the year.
- What do you want to accomplish?
- Where do you want to go?
- What do you want to do?
Multiple studies indicate that setting goals helps you increase productivity, guide your focus, and ensure your momentum towards accomplishing tasks, so the benefits of setting goals are there. Throughout 2017, I’ve written several stories about how setting goals for myself led to accomplishments about which I was, and still am, very proud, including releasing a full-length Truth Assassin album, switching to a part-time schedule at work, and writing all of the chapters of my book (six are posted, and the remaining two will be pending review by my agency).
In 2018, I have three business-related, strategic goals for myself, including, publishing my book, releasing another Truth Assassin album, and starting a freelance strategic communications effort. These goals will guide me throughout the year, keeping me focused, and ensuring that my efforts are all aimed at getting these things done. In short, in 2018, I’m going to get after it.
Every day is a gift. Every day is a new opportunity to get something done. Every day is an opportunity to make a positive change on you, your family, your company, your world.
Every day is an opportunity to get after it.
