I’m Parker Schaffel. I haven’t done everything, but I’ve done a lot. I’m a digital marketing expert and Certified CliftonStrengths Coach. I previously worked for the CIA for 13 years and served in the Navy Reserve as an intelligence officer for eight years. I spent almost two years overseas with assignments in Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iraq, and Jordan.

I wrote the book Get After It: Seven Inspirational Stories to Find Your Inner Strength When It Matters Most, and I’m the solo musician behind the punk band Everything Sideways. I’m also the lead singer another tribute band called Spirit in Black.

Since 2015, I have volunteered as a music instructor for at-risk youth at the Sitar Arts Center in Washington DC and from 2018 to 2019 I was a Washington Nationals Racing President. I’m a former skydiver, I’ve dabbled in stand-up comedy, and I’ve appeared in the television shows Veep and the Real Housewives of Potomac.

I ride a motorcycle, exercise, do yoga, and play ice hockey and volleyball. I play good amount of Magic: The Gathering and various board games. For some reason, I support the Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. I am a father to two wonderful children and husband to a wonderful woman.

I like to think I’m pretty unique, not just because of the things I’ve done, but because I’m literally the only Parker Schaffel in the world. Seriously, look it up.

Some Kind Words from Others

He makes me feel like a supported and valued member of the team. He regularly finds opportunities for my own professional development and creates a collaborative environment in which we can try new marketing tactics.
— A former direct report
Parker is great at challenging the status quo and rejecting the idea of doing something a certain way because “we’ve always done it like that”. He makes sure we are questioning ourselves and always pushing ourselves to do better.
— A former coworker
Parker is a great collaborator and great at getting projects and tasks moved along. He is also great at bringing more out of people and having them think about their choices and decisions, and the reasoning behind them.
